Growing new car dealership in the New London, CT area is looking for a hands-on, results-driven General Sales Manager to lead the charge in driving variable operations and delivering consistent, month-over-month growth. Reporting to the General Manager, this role is for a proactive leader who thrives on the sales floor, working alongside the team to push performance, improve processes, and ensure long-term success. This is an opportunity for a high-energy leader who is ready to take full ownership of sales growth, team development, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take an active, lead-from-the-front approach to driving sales and profitability.
- Oversee and support Sales Managers and Finance Managers, ensuring accountability and alignment with dealership goals.
- Work the desk, structure deals, and be directly involved in closing and TOs to maximize every opportunity.
- Drive consistent, month-over-month growth by improving sales strategies, lead management, and customer retention efforts.
- Implement and refine processes to enhance efficiency, profitability, and long-term stability.
- Collaborate with the General Manager on inventory management, marketing strategies, and financial performance.
- Develop, mentor, and coach the management team, ensuring a high-performance culture.
- Maintain a strong presence on the showroom floor, actively engaging with customers and staff to push results.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a General Sales Manager or Senior Sales Manager in a dealership setting.
- Hands-on leadership style with a relentless drive to grow variable operations.
- Strong desking and deal-structuring skills, with a track record of closing deals and maximizing gross.
- Ability to push performance while maintaining stability and process consistency.
- Strategic thinker with an analytical mindset, focused on long-term growth and profitability.
Compensation:
- Compensation package will be in the $145,000 - $175,000 range based on experience and performance.
