Leading import dealership in the Metrowest area of MA is seeking a proven Automotive General Sales Manager to join their team. The successful candidate is a high energy GSM who is hands-on, results-driven, and loves getting cars sold. This is a volume dealership with a strong team in place but needs a GSM who can rally the troops, set the tone, and ensure that leads are getting handled properly so that all opportunities are maximized. Great brand, loyal customer base, and tons of traffic coming to the dealership. Strong foundation in place and the dealer is looking for that last piece of the puzzle to tie it all together. Prior experience as a GSM at a new car dealership is required for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take an active, lead-from-the-front approach to driving sales and profitability.
  • Oversee and support Sales Managers and Finance Managers, ensuring accountability and alignment with dealership goals.
  • Coach, train, and develop a sales team to hit volume and gross targets
  • Run morning meetings to get the day started and team motivated
  • Implement and refine processes to enhance efficiency, profitability, and long-term stability.
  • Maintain a strong presence on the showroom floor, actively engaging with customers and staff to push results.
  • Establish a positive, high-energy sales culture focused on professionalism and accountability
  • Work the desk, structure deals, and be directly involved in closing and TOs to maximize every opportunity.
  • Drive consistent, month-over-month growth by improving sales strategies, lead management, and customer retention efforts.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager on inventory management, marketing strategies, and financial performance.
  • Develop, mentor, and coach the management team, ensuring a high-performance culture.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one coaching and team training sessions
  • Oversee internet lead handling and CRM utilization

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a General Sales Manager or Senior Sales Manager in a dealership setting.
  • Hands-on leadership style with a relentless drive to grow variable operations.
  • Strong desking and deal-structuring skills, with a track record of closing deals and maximizing gross.
  • Ability to push performance while maintaining stability and process consistency.

Compensation:

  • Compensation package will be in the $180,000 - $220,000 range based on experience and performance.
  • Benefits package provided
