Automation Technician

Our client is an leading automation and robotics engineering company and they have an immediate opening for a new project automation technician / engineer. This would be a hands on role involved in new project management of installations, training and troubleshooting. The candidate would need experience in automation start ups, assembly, wiring, and production line integration. Ability to communicate with plant production staff and management is essential and working unconventional and long hours on the install projects are required.   • Install, wire, troubleshoot, repair and perform maintenance on automated assembly equipment
  • Determination of root causes of mechanical problems on machines such as Pick-and-Place part transfer issues and part nesting alignment issues
  • Performance and support of machine validations (IQ, OQ, PQ)
  • Training and assistance to maintenance and manufacturing personnel on equipment
  • Ensuring that processes and equipment are set up and monitored according to work instructions
  • CAD Drafting and Document management
  • Assist in writing standard operating procedures (SOP) and technical machine maintenance manuals
  • Monitoring of machine performance measures
  • Assist with continuous improvement across the manufacturing process
  • Statistical data entry and analysis

Position Qualifications and Requirements:

  • AA degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent technical education
  • 2- 5 years of manufacturing troubleshooting experience
  • Excellent electrical mechanical skills, able to disassemble and assemble complex mechanisms with close tolerances and exacting alignment
  • Electrical troubleshooting skills, using volt/current meters with low voltage DC and 120 VAC
  • Knowledge of both ultrasonic welding and leak decay testers a plus
  • Experience in an ISO and FDA regulated manufacturing environment a plus
  • Ability to work both in a team and independently while prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent problem solving, decision making, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills including familiarity with Solidworks CAD software
