Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Automation Manager for the world’s leading supplier of collagen proteins for the food, health & nutrition and pharmaceutical industries and for numerous technical applications. With over 2450 employees in 18 production and sales locations across the globe.

Responsible for designing and maintaining manufacturing control systems in accordance with company standards. Provide automation technical expertise and engineering oversight to maintenance, engineering, and manufacturing personnel. Develop automation systems that enable continuous improvement through process optimization and evaluation. Evaluate technical feasibility for CAPEX and continuous improvement projects. Executes project work and provides timely communications on issues that may impact scope, cost, or budget. Perform duties with dedication and commitment toward compliance with plant safety and environmental regulations.

Background Required:
• Chemical, food, or pharmaceutical processing (3 years)
• Process control programming (3 years)
• Project management
• PLC programming using Studio/RSLogix 5000/500/5
• HMI programming using FTView SE
• Historian/VantagePoint – SQL configuration and maintenance
• Computer proficiency: Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook
• Travel 5%
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
• Residence: Sioux City IA, Relocation assistance provided

Background Preferred (but not required):
• Food or pharmaceutical processing
• Continuous Improvement (i.e. Lean, Six-sigma)
• MCC specification/programming/configuration
• Instrumentation specification
• Control system design and hardware specification
• Plant PAX, AssetCentre, and Transaction Manager programming experience
• Basic understanding of PLC security & database concepts
