Automation Engineer

Responsible for all aspects of automation for the entire facility. Assist in implementing automation projects to maximize manufacturing capabilities, efficiencies, and cost effectiveness. Monitor robotic programs and PLC code for inefficiencies and adjust as required. Taking pride in work and attention to detail is key.

Responsibilities

• Install firmware on automation equipment when needed.
• Create and modify robotic programs, PLC ladder logic, etc.
• Integration of automation hardware including PLC to robotic controls, a variety of HMIs, safety control integration, managed switches, VFDs, servo drives and various sensors and switches (both discrete and I/O Link).
• Installing and maintaining hardware used for data collection and historian use.
• Organization of automation equipment programs is a must.
• Ensures that production goals are met by optimizing equipment and machinery.
• Assist other engineers and team members with new equipment installation and implementation.
• Create BOM, part drawings and wire schematics for new projects and existing equipment using suppliers and manufactures in accordance with company policies.
• Assist with maintaining stock of essential and critical parts needed for automated equipment.
• Assist with the creation and updating of Eck Industries Safety procedures using the Brady Link 360 software.
• Assist with equipment Risk Assessments.
• Maintain continuous system operation by adjusting, repairing, replacing, or modifying automation/robotic system components.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent in Electro/Mechanical Technology or Automation Engineering Technology from an accredited institution preferred.
• 3-5 years of industrial automation experience, specializing in PLC Programming (Allen Bradley) and robotic integration (Fanuc)
