We are searching for an Automation Engineer (Level 1) to join our client's growing team.

Basic responsibilities of the Automation Engineer (Level 1) include:
  • Improving and maintaining line automation and drive systems
  • Developing, maintaining, and enhancing process software and human machine interface applications
  • System administration, support, and troubleshooting for Process Control networks and infrastructure
  • Providing control loop analysis and performance tuning for process optimization
  • Taking a lead role in problem solving application, network, and infrastructure problems
  • Support the electrical department by providing high level technical troubleshooting abilities particularly during challenging production equipment corrective maintenance.
  • PLC programming and troubleshooting
  • HMI Programming
  • Electrical Control Circuit Design
  • Control Panel Design and Installation
  • Database/Server Programming
  • AC & DC Drive Configuration
  • AC & DC Motor Theory Application
  • Project Management
  • Instrumentation Configuration and Calibration
  • Ethernet Network Setup and troubleshooting
  • Power Distribution System Design/Theory
  • Design new systems to increase the reliability or performance of factory equipment
  • Installation of new technical equipment needed for production
  • Provide technical expertise
  • Upgrading equipment

  • 2 year or 4 year technical degree (Preferably in Engineering)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science or engineering discipline with major computer technology content
  • 3 years of process control software development experience
  • Understanding of mechanical and electrical processes in the steel industry and steel plant processes
  • Working knowledge and experience with various PLC systems (Siemens, ABB, etc.)
