Job Summary:
The Auto Dealership Comptroller will play a crucial role in managing the financial health of the dealership. This position is responsible for overseeing all accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance while providing strategic insights to support business growth and profitability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive dealership finances and the ability to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Develop and manage the annual budget, providing financial forecasts and variance analyses to guide decision-making.
- Monitor dealership financial performance by establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) and providing actionable insights.
- Supervise and audit financial processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities to ensure fiscal responsibility.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with department heads to align financial strategies with operational goals, optimizing resource allocation.
- Conduct regular financial audits and internal control reviews to identify areas for improvement and mitigate risks.
- Mentor and lead the finance team, promoting professional development and optimizing team performance.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners to facilitate smooth financial operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management or accounting, specifically within an automotive dealership environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of dealership operations, finance, and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in automotive accounting software and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with all levels of the organization.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
