Job Description

Immediate opening for an experienced Litigation Attorney to join the in-house legal team of a global company based in Atlanta, Georgia. This position will include, but not be limited to, managing cases and disputes, primarily general liability, product liability, and auto liability claims and lawsuits and other insured risk matters, from inception to trial and appeal or settlement. The individual in this role will collaborate with outside counsel on case strategies and budget management. The successful candidate must be able to identify and lead litigation strategies.

Requirements for this position are as follows:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
  • 5+ years of related experience in a law firm, which must include hands-on litigation experience, preferably including substantive roles in trials or arbitrations
  • Knowledge of privilege issues relevant to in-house practice
  • Excellent judgment and ability to work independently, including demonstrated ability to be a self-starter
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Superior legal and business writing skills
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Familiarity with electronic discovery protocols and litigation technology
  • Ability to manage large number of outside counsel
  • Ability to conduct and direct legal research
  • Willing to learn in a fast-paced environment, and on a large number of matters at any given time; the workload is substantial and the pace is demanding
  • Member of the Georgia bar or be eligible to practice as an in-house attorney in Georgia
  • Familiarity with medical – legal issues
  • Knowledge of tort and insurance law
