What You’ll Do
- Advise on federal regulatory and RTO matters, focusing on transmission owner issues.
- Represent the company in the PJM Transmission Owners group and build consensus with peer utilities and PJM.
- Develop company positions on federal regulatory issues in consultation with internal subject matter experts.
- Monitor and participate in PJM stakeholder processes.
- Support FERC-jurisdictional issues and assist state regulatory attorneys on combined federal-state matters.
- Handle legal matters related to federal public utility regulatory law, especially PJM and RTO issues before FERC and other tribunals.
- Collaborate with internal/external counsel, consultants, and stakeholders.
- Conduct legal research and draft/review pleadings and documents.
- Provide legal, strategic, and business advice.
- Manage outside counsel.
What We’re Looking For
- Deep understanding of RTO tariffs (especially PJM) and stakeholder processes.
- Experience in proceedings before FERC.
- Ability to work collaboratively across legal and business units.
- Strong legal research and writing skills.
- Strategic thinker with sound judgment and business acumen.
Education
J.D. from an accredited university.
Experience
- 7–10 years of litigation experience.
- FERC experience preferred.
- State utility regulatory experience is a plus.
Skills & Abilities
- Member in good standing of at least one state bar.
- Strong work ethic and ability to quickly learn new areas.
- Excellent communication and consensus-building skills.
