Associate Attorney in Registered Funds

We are seeking a dynamic Associate Attorney for our financial services group in Los Angeles, CA. Salary: $260,000.00 - $390,000.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice concerning registered investment companies, addressing client needs across diverse business environments.
  • Counsel clients on compliance matters with the Investment Company Act and Investment Advisers Act, among other crucial regulatory frameworks.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate documentation, disclosures, and materials for mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, and various investment entities.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to oversee and manage client projects, delivering comprehensive legal insights and strategic advice.
  • Stay updated with industry developments to anticipate and effectively respond to client challenges and opportunities.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a top-tier law school with a commendable academic record.
  • Active Bar admission in California.
  • At least 3–6 years of experiential depth in legal aspects of registered investment companies.
  • In-depth understanding of the Investment Company Act and Investment Advisers Act.
  • Proven track record in either a large law firm, corporate in-house, or regulatory agency environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with exchange-traded funds, variable insurance products, business development companies, investment advisers, or commodities.
  • Previous exposure to high-stakes, complex investment transactions and compliance issues.
