Salary: $245,000 – $330,000 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive advice on estate planning, tax strategies, and other trust and estate matters to high-net-worth clients.
- Draft complex wills, trusts, and other estate planning documents tailored to the specific needs of clients.
- Oversee the full spectrum of estate administration from the initial probate process to final account closing, ensuring compliance with all legal, tax, and fiduciary responsibilities.
- Conduct detailed tax analyses and calculations; prepare and deliver client presentations highlighting strategic planning options.
- Collaborate with team members, including attorneys and paralegals, to ensure high standards of legal service are maintained.
- Supervision of paralegals and junior staff, guiding them in detailed estate administration tasks and complex document drafting.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a top-tier law school with outstanding academic credentials.
- Admission to the New York Bar or eligibility to waive in.
- LL.M. in tax law or a similar advanced degree is required.
- At least 2–4 years of substantive law firm experience specializing in trust and estates law.
- Demonstrated skills in drafting complex legal documents and managing sophisticated estate administrations.
- Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong tax law background with experience in estate and gift tax planning.
- Prior experience in legal settings focused on high-net-worth individuals.
- Experience with cross-border or international estate planning.
- Familiarity with financial planning, wealth management, or related fields.
- Advanced certifications such as a Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA).
