Associate Attorney - Investment Funds

We are seeking a highly-qualified and motivated Associate Attorney to join our world-renowned Investment Funds practice based in New York, NY or Washington, D.C. This critical role involves managing complex legal matters related to the Investment Company Act and the Investment Advisers Act, specifically focusing on closed-end funds. Engage in impactful work that supports major financial institutions while enhancing your expertise in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Salary: $310,000.00 - $390,000.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide thorough legal advice to clients on the Investment Company Act and the Investment Advisers Act.
  • Draft and negotiate fundamental documents for a variety of closed-end funds, including tender offer funds and interval funds.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure comprehensive legal solutions that align with client objectives.
  • Contribute to handling open-end funds and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) as part of our broader practices.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends to better serve clients and provide insightful consultation.
  • Participate in client meetings and prepare substantial client briefings and presentations.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
  • Admission to the Bar in either New York or Washington, D.C.
  • At least 4 years of experience dealing with Investment Company Act and Investment Advisers Act matters.
  • Proven track record of supporting closed-end funds in various capacities.
  • Excellent legal writing, analytical, and research skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with open-end funds and/or exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
  • Experience in high-stake negotiations and client interactions.
