An AmLaw 50 international firm in Atlanta is actively seeking an Associate Attorney to expand their Investment Funds practice. This position is centered around providing legal services in the areas of private equity, hedge funds, real estate, and more. The candidate will have the opportunity to directly engage with clients and support the firm’s business development initiatives, ultimately contributing to the strategic growth of the practice. Salary: $260,000.00 - $390,000.00 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice on structuring and forming a wide range of investment funds, such as private equity, hedge, and real estate funds.
- Handle legal matters involving retail alternative funds, including BDCs, interval funds, and closed-end funds, while expanding expertise in new areas.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive legal support to fund sponsors and institutional investors.
- Play a client-facing role, focusing on relationship building and contributing actively to business development efforts.
- Support and contribute to the growth of a key practice area, aiming to bolster its market relevance and success.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Must hold a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a top-tier law school, demonstrating a strong academic record.
- Current bar admission in the state of Georgia is mandatory.
- Requires 3 to 6 years of substantive experience in investment management and fund formation.
- Strong interpersonal abilities and an entrepreneurial mindset are crucial for direct client engagements.
- Must be capable of supporting business development initiatives and sustaining client relationships.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in handling complex legal matters involving sophisticated investment vehicles is preferred.
- Proven track record of contributing to the expansion of business practices within a legal setting.
- Adept at working in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
- Prior roles with direct client management and relationship building highly regarded.
