Our client is an independent investment adviser and asset manager that provides research, advisory, and investment services. As a leader in alternatives, they work with institutional investors and investment services across the alternative investment landscape. The firm helps clients develop customized, diversified portfolios that balance return, volatility, and liquidity most effectively.
The firm is currently seeking a candidate in their Chicago office for the position of Associate - Treasury and Operations to join their growing team of investment professionals focused on middle market direct lending strategies. The position is primarily responsible for treasury and operations management with an emphasis on reconciliation and break resolution for the firm’s direct lending funds.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day processing and reconciling portfolio activity. Obligations include, but are not limited to:
o Monitor and process bank loan and other investment activity in accounting ledger
o Reconcile cash ledgers with activity
o Collaborate with internal and external teams keeping portfolio up to date
o Work closely with fund administrator for open items.
- Manage document retention for the audit process including the collection and organization of audit documents.
- Assist in projects and identification of issues and areas for process improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree with a preferred concentration in finance, accounting, or economics.
- 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience a must.
- Excellent analytical skills with strong working knowledge of Excel
- Good understanding of loan operations with exposure to asset management and alternative investments.
- Strong attention to detail and highly organized with the proven ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to prioritize competing priorities with minimal supervision in a cross-functional team environment.
- Strong written and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of ClearPar
- Geneva experience preferred
- The position is located in their Chicago office.
