Assistant Terminal Manager


Salary Range:$80,000.00 - $90,000.00

Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Terminal Manager for a private fleet division of a $100 billion gross revenue, associate of 14,600 employee company, with 433 trucks, 1050 tanker trailers, and 30 terminals. The private fleet division was founded in 1996. Known as the go-to company for handling the hardest to haul tanker loads. A leader in providing the safest, highest quality transportation for crude oil, fuel, petroleum coke, and lube oil. Associates deliver quality service all over North America, logging over 30 million miles annually.
The Assistant Terminal Manager coordinates, directs and supervises all transportation operators within a terminal in a safe, environmentally responsible and cost-effective manner. Directs mechanics and maintenance activities. Manages the budgeted resource costs, incidental expenses, and vehicle utilization associated with the terminal. Oversees the management of customer relationships to ensure excellent customer service. Creates and fosters relationships with customers to facilitate stability and growth.

Background Required:
  • Transportation industry (2 yrs.)
  • Regulations in relations to chemical and petroleum products (CSA, FMCSR, OSHA, DOT, ELD)
  • FHWA/HW Regulations
  • Technology (ELD, CBT, On-board recorders)
  • Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) regulations
  • Computer literate: Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
  • Data Management software (i.e. PeopleNet)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Residence: Bakersfield, CA (Relocation assistance provided)
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
  • Supervisor in transportation industry (1 yr)
  • P & L, budgeting, business planning
  • Safety management
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree
