We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Teacher to join our team of talented professionals.

Qualifications: CDA or AS degree in Early Childhood education or Early Childhood development or you must be enrolled in a CDA, AS or BA in ECE program to be completed within 2 years from the time of hire. Good understanding of child development, age appropriate behaviors, common childhood behavior challenges and appropriate interventions.

Additionally you must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted in order to assist children during emergencies. Additional requirements include a nonjudgmental approach that reflects cultural competency and sensitivity to the unique needs and diverse experiences of our students, families, business partners and of the people in the programs represented by The Guidance Center. Must have the ability to appropriately handle crisis situations.

Preferred: 2 years experience working with children in Federal or State funded, center based preschool programs. Ability to communicate effectively in English or Spanish. Experience implementing a research based and research validated curriculum.
