Assistant Sales Director
Overview:
Our client BILTRITE Furniture is adding to their support team. They have grown to be an industry Leader as a
4th generation family business and a local favorite in Milwaukee including winning multiple awards year over
year. In fact, the company was recently awarded the 2023 HFA retailer of the year by the National Home
Furnishings Association. They are adding talented people to join their team and support this growth. Although
they have been in business since 1928, they are a constantly changing and dynamic company, striving for

The position of Assistant Sales and Operations Director reports to the Director of Sales and to the ownership
team.
As the Assistant Sales and Operations Director you’ll be responsible for supporting the Director of Sales in
their role and helping to achieve the Sales and Profit goals in the store. In addition you’ll be tasked as the lead
store operations leader where you will oversee and provide HR and Administrative leadership to the hourly
support personnel for the front of the store. This is a fast-paced retail leadership role. You will find that no two
days will be the same in this dynamic and fast paced visible role.
What You will Do:
• Sell and close deals.
Your goal is to execute on the plan and the mission to deliver the Best Customer Experience in support of
BiltRite Furniture’s position as a leading Milwaukee Furniture and Mattress destination retailer. In addition to
your duties of supporting the sales team you will also function as the primary Human Resources leader.
• Assist the Sales Director on a daily basis acting as the #1 on the floor in their absence.
• You’ll be responsible for overseeing the staff with daily operations in the areas of Office Customer
Service and Payment Processing.
• Human Resources – Assist the ownership team and provide a thorough orientation and training and
performance review with new and existing Office and Operations staff.
• Reviewing company benefits and policies, computer issues, health, safety and building policies,
administrative processes and procedures and job expectations.
• Responsible for keeping track of the big picture and identifying potential areas of improvement and
directing the Office Manager and Customer Service Manager and Team to ensure the sales support
departments are functioning at an optimal level.
• Coordinating different teams to foster exchange of ideas and provide cross-team and department
learning opportunities.
• Inspiring and motivating employees to perform at their best through positive encouragement and
incentive initiatives.
• Identifying potential problems and points of friction and working to find solutions in order to maximize
efficiency and revenue and bring harmony across the store and organization.

Qualified by:
• Minimum 5 years of related experience in Store Management Experience. This will include a history of
positions of increasing responsibility and complexity. Furniture industry experience is highly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree (highly preferred) or an equivalent combination of practical knowledge and or
experience.
• A flexible schedule with the ability to work weekends (Saturdays) and some holidays.

Technical Abilities :
• MS Suite and Excel skills – ability to do basic sort, tables, and filtering of data.
• Relevance and knowledge of POS systems and office equipment and technology in today’s world of
work.
• Ability to communicate effectively including in written communications.

Required Hours and Schedule:
Ability to work Saturdays and Holidays when needed. Work with the Director of Sales and may function as
the #1 on duty on the Sales floor from time to time. Scheduled days off will be Sunday and Tuesday or
Wednesday. This will be determined at time of hire.

Compensation:
This is an Exempt Management position with a highly competitive Salary rate and a commission rate along
with our outstanding benefits plan.

SUNDAY CLOSED TO BE WITH FAMILY - The company is closed on most Sundays and also closed for an Easter
Break plus the storewide week-long holiday vacation over July 4th. and a winter holiday break too.
