Assistant Property Manager - luxury lease-up
Job Description
We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Assistant Property Manager to support the successful lease-up and day-to-day operations of a newly constructed luxury apartment community. This role is ideal for a motivated multifamily professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at resident communication, and understands the elevated service expectations of a luxury brand.
The Assistant Property Manager will play a critical role during lease-up—supporting leasing, resident onboarding, financial administration, and operational coordination—while helping establish strong systems, culture, and resident satisfaction from day one. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the operations, culture, and resident experience of a brand-new luxury community. The Assistant Property Manager will gain hands-on lease-up experience, expanded operational exposure, and the opportunity to grow into a senior leadership role within the organization.
Lease-Up & Resident Experience
- Support leasing and marketing efforts to achieve and sustain lease-up velocity
- Assist with resident onboarding, move-ins, renewals, and move-outs
- Deliver high-touch, professional resident communication aligned with luxury standards
- Address resident questions and concerns promptly and diplomatically
- Support resident retention initiatives and community engagement efforts
Operational & Administrative Support
- Assist the Property Manager with daily operations of the community
- Manage resident files, lease documentation, and compliance requirements
- Coordinate with maintenance and leasing teams to ensure seamless operations
- Support service request tracking and follow-up to ensure timely resolution
- Assist with vendor coordination and work order documentation
Financial & Reporting Duties
- Process rent payments, collections, and delinquency follow-up
- Assist with accounts payable, invoice processing, and expense tracking
- Support month-end reporting, audits, and financial accuracy
- Ensure adherence to company policies and fair housing regulations
Team & Culture Support
- Act as a visible, supportive presence for onsite team members
- Step in as a leader in the Property Manager’s absence when needed
- Contribute to building a strong service culture during the lease-up phase
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–4 years of multifamily property management experience
- Prior lease-up experience strongly preferred
- Experience in luxury, Class A, high-rise, or mid-rise communities preferred
- Strong understanding of leasing, resident relations, and property operations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Proficiency with property management software (Yardi, RealPage, MRI, or similar)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
- Professional demeanor with a customer-service mindset
