Our Boston developer/builder client has an immediate need for a sharp, driven APM to join their team.

As a boutique real estate development and investment management firm they develop and build their own product. They specialize in the redevelopment of classic Bostonian properties into modern mixed-use spaces and ULTRA HIGHEND residential developments in some of the most prestigious streets of Downtown Boston.

This is a growing company with a fierce focus on quality. Their core business is architect driven renovations of Boston Brownstones into state of the art, custom residences and they are taking that level of detail and finish work into their commercial projects.

Initial responsibilities will be to support the Snr PM with the renovation of a classic, century-old, property in the heart of Downtown Boston, close to restaurants, shops, and the subway. This multi-floor renovation will consist of office and retail space utilizing the finest finishes available. This is not your average cookie-cutter commercial space and once complete, you’ll take pride in saying “I helped build that”.

The role requires an ability to multitask while using superior admin and tech skills to follow-up on bids/contracts etc. The #1 task is to help the Snr PM minimize risk and liability for the client. That means lots of communication and best practices for document control.

This is a professional and fast-moving project working with great subs, which you’ll get to see daily working out of the onsite office. It’s busy and no day is the same. Working with a “core 4 team” the ability to get along and communicate will be the key to success in this position.

The ideal candidate is working in a similar role and is comfortable supporting an Snr PM and is looking to take on more responsibility.

Day in the life:

  • Working with a seasoned Snr PM you will be involved in all activities of construction management
  • You will prepare project status reports, and work to ensure plans adhere to contract specifications
  • Receive, review and distribute correspondence
  • Maintain contract documentation such as submittal schedules, RFI, meeting minutes, proposed change order logs and project correspondence
  • Review contract documents and retain the information for use when reviewing shop drawings and submittals for contract compliance
  • Support Snr PM with weekly meeting minutes etc.

Ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred
  • Proven experience as an APM with the ability to “jump right in”
  • Computer savvy; Procore software a plus
  • Organizational abilities
  • Understanding scheduling
  • General knowledge of contracts
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Committed to production and learning
