Assistant Marketing & PR Manager
Job Description
The Assistant Marketing and PR Manager is responsible for managing all marketing and public relations activities, including digital marketing strategies, external branding, and internal materials to support student recruitment and ensure return on investment (ROI). The role involves executing both short- and long-term strategic marketing plans to maximize key program objectives, broaden awareness, increase applications, and drive matriculation for foundation, undergraduate, and postgraduate programs of the institution.

- Suggest new methods to identify customers’ needs
- Analyze marketing metrics (conversion rates, web analytics, etc.)
- Assist with promotional events to attract leads
- Maintain and enhance the company’s reputation in the eyes of the higher education audience
- Develop marketing techniques to drive students’ recruitment
- Develop, operationalize and implement annual Marketing strategies and plans
- Undertake research and market analysis to support the university’s business plans/strategies
- Work closely with Recruitment & Admissions Department to achieve enrolment target
- Evolve and implement branded messaging through all content to ensure the consumer voice and relevant brand components are accurately and consistently represented across our channels of communication
- Create/copy edit content that helps bring student/alumni experience to life in real and meaningful ways (interviews, blogs, newsletters, videos, long/short form, infographics), increase awareness, engagement, and conversion activities
- Lead and implement social strategy for the University’s objectives. Campaign performance and best practices should drive recommendations
- Strengthen the prospective student audience/market understanding through surveys, and focus groups. Leverage findings to recommend innovative opportunities that will inform both downstream and upstream marketing
- Closely monitor competitive presence and industry trends across various message boards, business newsletters and social media
- Works through the Marketing officer to facilitate the continuous update of the university’s website and other social media machinery with current happenings
Qualifications
- A Master’s degree in Marketing, Marketing Communications, MBA (Marketing option) or a related discipline
- Professional certification in marketing i.e., CIM, CIMA etc.
- Professional certification in Advertising
- At least 6 years post-qualification work experience

- Excellent influencing skills and the ability to communicate with credibility, tact and diplomacy internally and externally

IT Skills Required
