This role will be responsible for:
- Assisting in the planning, execution, and evaluation of plant breeding programs.
- Ability to create your own programs and develop your own varieties.
- Managing data collection, analysis, and reporting to support breeding objectives.
- Coordinating greenhouse, field, and laboratory activities.
- Ensuring adherence to industry standards, safety protocols, and quality goals.
Expectations will include:
- Developing a deep understanding of existing breeding programs to seamlessly transition into a leadership role.
- Actively participating in breeding trials and plant selection processes.
- Communicating effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Staying informed of industry trends and integrating innovative breeding strategies.
A qualified candidate will possess the following:
- Bilingual proficiency (English and Spanish required).
- A degree in Plant Breeding, Horticulture, Agronomy, or a related field.
- Previous experience in plant breeding, research, or applied horticulture.
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Passion for horticultural plants and a commitment to continuous learning.
Compensation: Will depend on experience, targeting $75-$90K base plus incentives.
