This role will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in the planning, execution, and evaluation of plant breeding programs.
  • Ability to create your own programs and develop your own varieties.
  • Managing data collection, analysis, and reporting to support breeding objectives.
  • Coordinating greenhouse, field, and laboratory activities.
  • Ensuring adherence to industry standards, safety protocols, and quality goals.

Expectations will include:

  • Developing a deep understanding of existing breeding programs to seamlessly transition into a leadership role.
  • Actively participating in breeding trials and plant selection processes.
  • Communicating effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Staying informed of industry trends and integrating innovative breeding strategies.

A qualified candidate will possess the following:

  • Bilingual proficiency (English and Spanish required).
  • A degree in Plant Breeding, Horticulture, Agronomy, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in plant breeding, research, or applied horticulture.
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Passion for horticultural plants and a commitment to continuous learning.

Compensation: Will depend on experience, targeting $75-$90K base plus incentives.

Desired Location: This role will need to be located in the surrounding Portland, OR area.
