We are looking for an Assistant Controller to work for our client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to take on a key leadership role supporting the Controller and strengthening the organization's accounting operations, in a hybrid role based in Columbus, OH.

Responsibilities

• Support the Controller in overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger and month-end/year-end close
• Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Help manage the annual audit process, including preparation of supporting schedules and documentation
• Support the development and maintenance of internal controls across the accounting function
• Review account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and reviewing their work
• Identify and help implement process improvements within the accounting function
• Step in for the Controller on key deliverables and decisions as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including some supervisory experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and month-end/year-end close processes
• Experience supporting or participating in external audits
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a hybrid work environment
