Urology Surgeons of Northern California is the largest group of urologists in the region with 18 physicians and providers. The group operates at six different locations in Mountain View, Los Gatos, and San Jose.

The IPA was formed less than two years ago and is growing rapidly. El Camino Health Alliance now stands at over 120 members and is adding another 250 members from a recently acquired IPA.

- Work with leadership team to develop, plan, and execute short, medium, and long-range organization strategies; ensure the development and implementation of associated business plans, tactics, and policies as they relate to finance.
- Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making to the leadership team and the Board.
- Lead development and implementation of performance measures and enhance processes that drive accountability measurements throughout the organization.
- Analyze daily operating results to ensure that revenues, expenses, and labor are within budgeted objectives; advise department leaders and administration of needed changes and improvements in a timely manner.
- Establish and maintain sound financial controls and record keeping.
- Keep abreast of government regulatory requirements and the rapidly changing reimbursement environment to develop and implement changes to policies and procedures as needed.

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- An MBA, MHA and/or CPA designation is preferred.
- At least five years of progressive financial healthcare or equivalent experience in the areas of general accounting; operations; financial systems; financial statement preparation; review and analysis; multi-discipline management experience; and ethics in a medical foundation, medical group, managed care, or provider organization required.
- Substantial financial management experience including financial operations, strategic and financial planning, contracts, reimbursement, budgeting, and capital financing in a complex environment including investment experience required. Excellent management, leadership, and coaching skills including setting vision and direction for finance functions and implementing objectives for the function and organization.

- Coordinate with other senior members of the leadership team in the development of major strategic and financial plans, including capital expenditure programs.
- Review, evaluate, and ensure the effectiveness of all financial and accounting systems. Direct the development and implementation of new systems, policies and procedures as required.
- Assist in the financial evaluation of new practices being considered for acquisition and consolidation within the ECHMN organization including review of the accuracy of the practice’s financial statements, accounts receivables, and payer agreements.
- Assist in the development of new provider-based ambulatory services by analyzing the feasibility of new programs, including managed care contracts, and advise management of the financial prospects.
- Prepare various financial reports on a regular and ad hoc basis to support the planning and strategic needs of the organization.
- Direct a team of individuals responsible for a variety of professional accounting duties, accounts payable, payroll and physician compensation.
- Monitor and evaluate performance of direct reports; act as a mentor to staff and provide developmental opportunities; and work with staff to minimize performance deficiencies.
- Convert complex finance, operational, and compliance issues into terms and concepts that are easily disseminated throughout all levels of the organization.
- Serve as an organization resource to the Hospital Finance team as needed and collaborate with the Hospital Finance and other ECH departments to facilitate sharing of information and processes that will benefit both organizations.
- Work closely with VP of Physician Relations & Integration and the Chief Administrative Officer to establish equitable and competitive compensation for providers joining the organization as well as with decision support in monitoring provider performance in accordance with their contract.
- Work closely with the VP of Revenue Cycle to ensure revenue integrity and timely recovery of receivables.
- Assist Human Resources in the collection of defensible data to support union negotiation strategies.
- Attend promptly to the administrative details of the position including the signing of documents, preparation of reports, completion of performance appraisals and other employee-related actions.
- Continuously evaluate existing procedures and practices, identify, and execute cost savings initiatives and actions to improve financial performance.
- Contribute to the overall patient experience and satisfaction.

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- An MBA, MHA and/or CPA designation is preferred.
