Assembly Technician (High Precision Instruments)

Overview

We are seeking an Assembly Technician to support the build of high-precision, laser-based analytical instrumentation used in advanced industrial and semiconductor applications. This role involves hands-on mechanical and electronic assembly, testing, and preparation of finished equipment for shipment.

This position is based in Horsham, PA and operates within a manufacturing/operations environment, working closely with engineering and production teams to meet quality, safety, and delivery requirements. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, comfortable with precision work, and adaptable in a fast-paced production setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical and electronic components for precision analytical instruments
  • Perform soldering of lasers, circuit boards, and other sensitive electronic components
  • Pull, stage, and prepare parts and materials using drawings, schematics, method sheets, and job specifications
  • Test, finalize, and prepare completed instruments and related equipment for shipment
  • Operate electro-optical and electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters, and wavemeters
  • Assist with troubleshooting mechanical and electronic assembly issues in collaboration with engineering and technical staff
  • Perform cycle counts and support inventory accuracy
  • Shift between tasks as needed to support production and delivery schedules
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment
  • Support additional production or assembly activities as required

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in a technical field (Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Technology) or 2–5 years of relevant hands-on experience
  • Experience with mechanical assembly requiring strong manual dexterity
  • Hands-on experience with soldering, electronics assembly, and precision component handling
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, diagrams, method sheets, and BOMs
  • Experience using electro-optical or electronic test equipment
  • Experience handling or routing fiber-optic cables is a plus
  • Ability to regularly lift, push, or pull up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Additional Information

The target compensation range for this position is $55,000–$65,000 annually, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
