Area Planning Manager
The Area Planning Manager is responsible for overseeing planning, scheduling, and advanced work packaging processes and functions, reporting directly to the Director of Planning and Scheduling.
This position is on-site in Cameron, LA.
This position will collaborate with project management and contractor personnel to develop and maintain project execution plans and schedules while also providing leadership and oversight of planning professionals assigned to the project. The primary focus of this position will be the safe and efficient work planning of civil and structural activities, pipe installation and testing, electrical and instrumentation installation, materials management, and commissioning & start-up activities in support of the overall project schedule. In addition, this position will implement and monitor robust planning & advanced work packaging processes and procedures that will be able to be replicated across all scopes of work.
The role will also require effective communication with Project and Executive Management for timely decision making and incorporation of stakeholder input. The role will be based on the project site, with potential for travel to other project locations and contractor offices.
Responsibilities:
- Development and maintenance of planning & advanced work packaging processes and procedures.
- Development and quantification of construction and commissioning performance targets.
- Development and maintenance of internal company plans & schedules.
- Lead reviews and monitor adherence of Contractor execution plans & schedules, including resource requirements.
- Provide oversight and leadership to Contractor Planning teams.
- Set up and maintain reporting and dashboard templates for consistent communication.
- Present and effectively communicate plan & detailed execution information internally and externally.
- Develop and maintain graphical summary depictions of execution plan.
- Monitor contractor progress and productivity.
- Develop mitigations when interruptions to the plan arise.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering discipline preferred.
- 7+ years of relevant construction planning and work packaging experience in major Oil & Gas engineering and construction projects
- Experience working on-site in industrial construction.
- Proficient in NavisWorks or other 3D modeling and work packaging software.
- Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Visio skills.
- Experience with Power BI, SQL or similar relational database management systems preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, with strong critical thinking and attention to detail.
- Strong work ethic with ability to effectively prioritize, meet deadlines, adapt to changing priorities and business needs, and succeed in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent ability to efficiently summarize and prioritize information.
