Responsibilities & Duties


Will function as a project team member in pre-design, programming, design, construction documentation, and construction administration tasks within general parameters set by the Project Architect and/or Project Manager and supervises and mentor project team members assuring delegated tasks are performed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & FUNCTIONS
1. Develops design and technical solutions independently or under general direction of Project Architect and Project Manager.
2. May lead projects as required.
3. Assists with project management tasks such as developing project scope, work plans, schedules, monitoring work progress, and managing requests for scope changes as required.
4. Ensures effective communication of project requirements, established presentation and quality control procedures to team members, and coordinates meetings and communications with Project Architect.
5. Will communicate with other departments, and outside consultants regarding project issues and/or technical coordination in project development.
6. Produces construction documents under general direction of Project Architect or Project Manager.
7. Assists in data collection, documentation, and analysis for programming and existing facilities assessment.
8. Performs materials research, assists in the preparation of specifications, and coordinates specifications with Specification Writer.
9. Researches all applicable building codes, performs required calculations and documents the means of complying with code requirements for the project. Coordinates with government regulatory agencies.
10. Reviews shop drawings and ensures that drawings are prepared in accordance with Company standards.
11. Performs construction site visits and construction administration tasks under general supervision of Project Architect or Project Manager.
12. Ensures that drawings are prepared in accordance with company standards.
13. Directs the efforts of interns and others through mentoring and direct supervision.
14. Maintains project files in accordance with established standards and procedures.
15. Assesses, solves, and documents issues during construction.
16. Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training, and/or Experience
1. Five years or more of previous work experience
2. Professional degree in Architecture.
