Webuild (www.webuildstaffing.com) is seeking a highly qualified Principal Archaeologist (Archaeology Project Manager) to lead and oversee complex archaeological projects throughout the South Pacific Region (Hawaii, Guam, etc.).

The idea candidates should have at least five years of project management experience and a minimum of ten years directing medium- to large-scale projects. Proven expertise in archaeological theories, methods, and techniques is essential, along with strong skills in budgeting, scheduling, quality control, and client communication. Must have a proficiency in project management tools, excellent organizational abilities, and a detail-oriented approach are required.

This pivotal role involves comprehensive project administration and strategic oversight, including preparing cost proposals, managing budgets, ensuring quality assurance, and maintaining compliance with project requirements and contractual obligations. The Principal Archaeologist will act as the primary liaison for clients and subconsultants, ensuring effective communication and coordination throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include preparing cost proposals, overseeing budgets to ensure cost-effective resource utilization, and participating in client meetings to provide updates and resolve issues. The role also involves supervising quality control for project deliverables, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, managing subconsultant agreements, and coordinating project schedules with internal teams and the Business Office. Additionally, the Principal Archaeologist will handle billing milestones, review client invoices, and approve subconsultant payments.

Requires a Bachelor Degree in Archaeology, Environment Science or related discipline. Master’s degree or higher in Archaeology or a closely related field is preferred. Candidates that have a specialization in Pacific Island archaeology strongly preferred. Must be able to pass background investigation.
