Webuild (www.webuildstaffing.com) is seeking a highly qualified Senior Archaeologist (Archaeological Project Director) to lead project activities in Guam.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience directing archaeological projects, and demonstrate knowledge of archaeological methods, theory, Asian archaeology, bioarchaeology, and compliance with regulatory standards.

This pivotal role, under the supervision of the Project Manager and Principal Investigator, involves preparing and implementing research designs, making strategic field decisions, and producing high-quality technical reports and publications. The Senior Archaeologist will lead fieldwork efforts, manage post-field tasks such as data management, laboratory analysis, GIS figure drafting, and writing, and apply basic statistical analyses to interpret archaeological data.

You will be responsible for developing fieldwork strategies, organizing project staffing and logistics, and ensuring compliance with Department of Defense, federal, and state regulations related to cultural and environmental preservation. The Senior Archaeologist will lead and train field teams, resolve field challenges, and coordinate with the Principal Investigator to address analytical questions. Post-field responsibilities encompass supervising data analysis, managing collections with the Laboratory Manager, and overseeing project reporting, including quality assurance of field data and the preparation of technical reports and site forms. Additionally, the Senior Archaeologist will guide the publication of project findings in scholarly journals and other professional outlets.

Requires a Bachelors Degree in Archaeology, Environmental Science or related discipline. Master’s degree in Archaeology preferred. Proficiency with GIS and other digital technologies required.
