Job Description
The Application Engineer supports customers with the setup, programming, and operation of CNC machines while providing exceptional technical service. This role partners with sales and end users through training, demos, turnkey projects, and on-site support, requiring strong machining experience and confident technical communication.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct pre-sale activities including customer visits, machine assessments, part-processing recommendations, and turnkey proposal development.

Deliver clear and engaging technical and sales presentations to demonstrate machine capabilities.

Create high-quality demonstration parts for shows, events, and customer visits.

Prepare accurate cost estimates, interpret engineering drawings, and write detailed engineering reports.

Program and set up CNC lathes, vertical mills, and horizontal mills.

Fulfill engineering services purchased by customers, including test cuts, turnkey projects, and post-installation support.

Train customers on the safe setup and operation of CNC machining centers and lathes.

Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of all Haas product lines and machining technologies.

Work autonomously in a flexible environment, taking initiative on sample parts, demos, and hands-on machining solutions.
Qualifications:

Minimum 3+ years of hands-on CNC machining experience.

Experience running or working extensively in a machine shop environment is strongly preferred.

Knowledge of Haas controls; experience with a machine tool builder or distributor is a plus.

Solid working knowledge of CAD/CAM software is a plus.

Strong customer service skills with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Ability to confidently present technical information to customers and decision-makers.

Self-motivated individual who thrives in an autonomous, low-micromanagement environment.

Frequent regional travel required.
