Location: Tampa, FL area
Job Type: Full Time Hourly Non-Exempt – Flexible Schedule and Hours with possibility of Overtime
Travel: Up to 50%. May reduce based on business needs. Servicing Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Mid-West areas.

Position Overview:
Our company is excited to expand its Engineering team for a new sector within the company. W are seeking a Full-Time employee. The position is for an “Intermediate Electrical Engineer /Application Engineer/Project Manager” with a focus in Power Systems/Equipment. The Engineer will be assigned the role of “Applications Engineer” to lead our team for equipment design. The Engineer would be expected to collaborate with Business Development, Manufacturing, and Engineering to deploy innovative solutions to our Clients. Collaboration would be across multiple offices and third-party Vendors / Consultants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Development:
- Responsible for Bid Walkdowns and Proposal development.
- Project Experience:
- Manage projects up to $100k CAPEX.
- Oversee all stages from FEL1 (Conceptual) to FEL6 (Commissioning).
- Codes and Standards:
- Ensure compliance with UL (891, 1558, 508), NEMA Type 1 & 3R, IEEE, NFPA.
- Technical Skills:
- Utilize 3D Laser Scanning.
- Develop Deliverables such as One Line Diagram, Three Line Diagram, Block and Riser Diagrams, Interconnection Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams, Schematics, Equipment Specifications, Installation Details, Elevation Drawings, and Panel Drawings.
- Evaluate OEM equipment.
- Project Management Skills:
- Develop Budget Reports.
- Conduct Site Walkdowns.
- Lead Client Meetings.
- Handle Procurement.
- Additional Duties:
- Flexibility to perform other assigned tasks to support the overall business objectives.
Requirements (Education, Experience, Skills & Attributes):
- Bachelor’s Degree – Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited)
- 5-8 years of experience in Commercial, Industrial or Utility
- Switchboards, Switchgear, Motor Control Centers, Low Voltage Breakers, and Medium Voltage Breakers
- Autodesk 2D and 3D or Solidworks or Bentley Microstation 3D – Intermediate Level
- Microsoft: Word, Onenote, Excel, and Power Point – Intermediate Level
- Revu Bluebeam (Optional) – Entry Level
- Autodesk BIM 360 (Optional) – Entry Level
- Autodesk Electrical (Optional) -Intermediate Level
- Must successfully complete client site-specific training.
- Must submit to client specific drug and other screening processes as requested.
- Professional appearance in accordance with client preferences and company standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fundamentals in Engineering (F.E.)
- Professional Engineer (P.E.).
Physical Requirements:
This job involves both indoor and outdoor work. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
- Lift, carry and/or move up to 75 pounds repeatedly.
- Climb ladders, staircases, step stools, stand, walk, sit, and operate vehicles for extended periods.
- Bend, stoop, crawl and work in awkward positions or confined spaces for several hours.
The employee may occasionally be required to:
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions including intense heat/cold, muddy and wet environments.
- Perform precision tasks with instruments and fittings.
