Our System Software Team, within the Next Generation Supervised Driving Product Area, is looking for a Senior System Safety Engineer!

Role Expectations:

Our Localization Team is looking for an Algorithm Engineer!

The Localization Team develops algorithms that determine the position and orientation of an autonomous vehicle. Our algorithms help ensure that vehicles can safely operate in cluttered real-world driving environments. We use data from a variety of sensors, including cameras, RADAR, LIDAR, Ultrasonic, IMUs, and GPS.

You will become part of our team, and will help us develop, simulate, integrate, and test localization algorithms for safety critical autonomous vehicle systems, and deploy that software in real products. You will use agile processes and the C++ language to develop real-time software and associated software artifacts. You will work in modern simulation environments and have direct access to test vehicles to rapidly experience your results first-hand. You will work on self-guided cross-functional teams building fully autonomous vehicle solutions!

This position is a flexible remote role which means employees have the flexibility to sometimes work remotely but are expected to report to a local office occasionally.

Role Requirements:

Our team is looking for a motivated candidate who wants to learn an improve their skills in this exciting field, with strong communication and problem-solving skills, and a desire to get things done.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or Science field
  • This position is open to those with limited industry experience.
  • Must have a moderate level of programming experience, including at least some C++ experience, and must be comfortable working in a Linux environment.
  • Must have academic or industry experience in areas such as:
  • SLAM
  • state estimation
  • odometry (e.g. with IMUs)
  • LIDAR sensors
  • other automotive sensors (RADAR, camera, ultrasonic)
  • estimation theory (Bayesian filtering, the Kalman filter family)
