The Potato Growers of Alberta (PGA) is a non-profit potato grower organization that aims to increase the success of the potato growing industry in Alberta. To accomplish this, the PGA works on three fronts: education and extension, marketing and promotion, and research. The PGA is the voice of the potato industry in Alberta.

Ag Relations Coordinator

This is a unique opportunity to represent the Canadian Leader in the Industry, while working directly with Growers in the Province.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent the PGA through Communication with the Members, Industry and Government Organizations
  • Collect and Distribute Program Information to ensure the PGA Members are kept up to date on Farm Programs
  • Collaborate with Industry and Government in Research Programs
  • Obtain Grant Funding through Sourcing and Submitting Applications
  • Organizing Field Days and Area Meetings, as well as Contributing to the Team in the Organization and Implementation of the Annual AGM
  • Other Duties as Required

Requirements:

  • A Passion for the Ag Industry with a Focus on Customer Service
  • Driven and Self-motivated with the ability to ‘Get the Job Done’
  • Exceptional Communication Skills with an ability to Foster Relationships
  • A Desire to Represent the Organization to the Public, including Lobbying and Communicating with Government Organizations
  • Ability to travel throughout North America to attend Conferences and Meetings
  • Solutions Focused, Problem Solving Nature with ability to be Flexible and Adapt to changing situations and priorities
  • Excellent Follow Through
  • Computer Competency; proficiency in Excel
  • Ag Experience/Knowledge essential, with post secondary education an asset
