Ag Accounting Manager - Grain

We are assisting an established, international grain organization to fill a vacancy in their accounting/finance department in Winnipeg, MB. This role is responsible for developing and deploying effective accounting strategies across the country that ensures Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) & International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) compliance, Statutory External Reporting, Local & Group Audit, CGC reporting, Periodic tax filing and reporting.

Do you have the following QUALIFICATIONS?
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Designation
  • Bachelor Degree (or higher) in Finance and Accounting, or related discipline
  • 5+ years experience leading a finance/accounting team
  • 5+ years experience of Canadian Corporate Tax Reporting
  • Grain Inventory management skill and experience
  • Experience using Sage an asset
  • Experience using Salesforce CRM an asset
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel and Access
If so, as the Ag Accounting Manager with this employer, you would manage accounting duties, including:
  • Collaborating with external auditors to successfully complete the annual Fiscal Year audit
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data; produce financial reports in compliance with GAAP and IFRS
  • Prepare and file annual Fiscal Year corporate taxes
  • Assist in completion of annual applications for applicable Investment Tax Credits
  • Oversee payroll remittances
  • Oversee GST/PST and all other statutory filings accurately
  • Complete and submit StatsCan survey reports and other regulatory queries
  • Complete and submit monthly levy reports to all applicable provinces prior to deadline
  • Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, and annual Canadian Grain Commission reports
  • Complete General Ledger reconciliations
  • Communicate effectively with all finance team(s) regarding applicable fixed asset, depreciation, and bank loan schedules
  • Oversee Accounts Payable and Receivables
  • Assist in training staff and/or developing training materials
  • Train, supervise, and mentor direct reports including probationary and performance reviews
  • Maintain existing accounting software; ensuring it is in line with business and management requirements
  • Ensure 100% compliance of all transfer pricing requirements
