We are seeking a Buyer for a 6-12+ month contract (with possibility of extension and/or conversion to perm) in Huntsville, Alabama to support procurement and supply chain activities for various aerospace and technology systems. This position plays a key role in managing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of critical materials. The Buyer will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure supplier performance aligns with company standards.

Duration: 6-month contract (potential for extension or conversion)
This role offers the opportunity to drive efficiency and innovation in supply chain management while contributing to cutting-edge aerospace and engineering projects.
Responsibilities:

Manage and coordinate suppliers to support the external development of aerospace systems.

Prioritize and execute program requirements to meet business and mission needs.

Prepare and issue Requests for Proposal (RFPs) / Requests for Quote (RFQs) and perform price analyses.

Develop negotiation strategies and lead formal contract negotiations.

Construct and manage various contract types, including long-term procurement agreements, sourcing partnerships, and strategic contracts.

Oversee the procurement process from requisition to final payment and resolve any issues.

Identify and implement opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

Ensure materials are delivered on time, within budget, and meet technical requirements.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in procurement and supplier management (or 3+ years with a Master’s degree).

Strong knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and various contract types (FFP, T&M, CPFF, CPIF).

Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with experience managing supplier relationships.

Ability to multi-task, prioritize workload, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills, with experience tracking program metrics.

Understanding of AS9100 standards and engineering data (specifications, source control drawings).

Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Experience in the Aerospace or Space industry.

Knowledge of Avionics or Fluid components procurement.

Familiarity with ITAR/EAR regulations for import/export compliance.
-
CPSM, CSCP, or PMP certification.

Experience with Deltek Costpoint, Jira, and SharePoint.
