The Administrative and Accounts Officer will handle administrative tasks including preparing reports, keeping financial records updated, reconciling bank statements, preparing cheques, payments and filings, preparing journals for audit and preparing and submitting reports for donors.

A successful Administrative and Accounts Officer will ensure that the daily accounting functions of the organization run accurately and effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Initiate and implement best and effective practices in administrative functions
  • Preparation and maintenance of administrative and financial reports
  • Processing of payroll, statutory payments and other payment obligations
  • Ensure timely completion of financial and other administrative audits
  • Prepare and analyze reports and financial statements for the management team
  • Manage databases and document processes and systems
  • Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions (e.g., disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, accounts payable)
  • Verify the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records.
  • Reconcile records with internal company employees and management, or external vendors or customers
  • Reconcile accounts in a timely manner
  • Investigate questionable data.
  • Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws
  • Aid and support to company personnel.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of five (5) CXC O’ Level passes inclusive of Mathematics and English
  • Pursuing a formal Accounting Qualification.
  • Prior administrative experience.
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Attention to detail.
  • Desire to be proactive and create a positive experience for others.
