Sizable Siouxland Company seeking an Accounts Receivable Assistant.

Description and Purpose

This position is for the Accounts Receivable Department, which is the department responsible for monitoring and managing accounts and billing. Being a valued team member is accomplished by accurate, efficient work, completed in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • Ability to understand information and ideas shared verbally or presented in writing.
  • Able to communicate information with others
  • Ability to perform basic math, calculate discounts, interest and percentages.

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required

Skills Required

  • Basic to intermediate computer skills required
  • Attention to detail
  • Organizational and time management abilities
  • Proficient typing skills and 10-key data entry, with a focus on accuracy
  • Comfortable making and receiving phone calls
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Willingness to learn and adapt
  • Ability to interact with managers, coworkers, vendors and customers with pleasant demeanor

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Organize, mail, and review expired tax exemptions for customers
  • Review customer credit limitations and restrictions on a case-by-case basis
  • Perform account reconciliations
  • Maintain customer records
  • Assist with account receivable monthly statements
  • Scan documents into the system as needed
  • Restock printer, fax, copiers and other office machines with paper; let IT know if toner is low
  • Assist Credit Manager and/or Controller as needed
  • Work collaboratively with other departments (Sales, Service, Parts, HR, Marketing, etc.) on special work projects that may be needed for the company as a whole (sending correspondence to customers, stamping boxes with company Logo, etc)

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office machines such as calculator, copy machine, and computer printers.

  • Constantly required to sit, stand, and walk.
  • Seldom required to stoop and kneel.
