Accounting assistant-contract
Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Assistant for our oil & gas services manufacturing company in North Houston.
The succession candidate will focus on invoicing and business-to-business collections and will be comfortable working within third-party vendor systems and ensuring timely and accurate financial processing.
This is a part-time in office position, 20 – 30 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and send customer invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
- Conduct B2B collections, including following up on past due accounts and resolving payment discrepancies.
- Enter and manage invoicing and payment information in third-party procurement systems (e.g., Ariba or similar platforms).
- Assist with maintaining accounting records, files, and supporting documentation.
- Support month-end activities as needed.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external customers to resolve billing or account-related issues.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in accounting support, billing, or collections.
- Experience working with third-party vendor or procurement systems (e.g., Ariba) preferred.
- QuickBooks experience is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Professional communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to manage time effectively and work in a fast-paced environment.
