Accounting Technician ( Construction Sector)

Salary Range: $8,000

Job Summary:
Our client in the construction industry is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Technician with strong proficiency in Peachtree Accounting software (mandatory) to support the Accounting Officer on a 3-month clean-up project.

The ideal candidate will assist in reviewing, correcting, and organizing financial records, while supporting key accounting functions and ensuring accurate financial reporting for construction-related project accounts.This role requires a hands-on, experienced accounting professional who is confident working independently in Peachtree.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update accurate financial records using Peachtree Accounting software (required)
  • Review and process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections
  • Reconcile bank accounts, project budgets, and general ledger entries
  • Assist in preparing financial statements, reports, and project cost summaries
  • Identify and correct discrepancies as part of the clean-up process
  • Track expenditures and ensure proper allocation to construction projects
  • Support payroll processing and assist with job costing, including VAT and NIS calculations
  • Assist with audits, tax filings, and compliance with financial regulations
  • Collaborate with the Accounting Officer and project managers to ensure financial accuracy
  • Maintain documentation for contracts, invoices, and vendor records

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 5 years accounting experience
  • Strong proficiency in Peachtree Accounting software (mandatory)
  • ACCA Level 2 (or equivalent progress toward ACCA qualification)
  • Experience in data entry and financial record keeping
  • Knowledge of tax processes and basic tax preparation
  • Strong understanding of general accounting functions
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, ACCA, or related field (preferred)
  • Must be competent, confident, and able to perform accounting duties independently

  • Familiarity with local and regional financial regulations
  • Experience in multi-project construction environments
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
