Accounting Specialist - AP and AR

Accounting Specialist needed in Haverhill, MA. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional looking for a long-term opportunity with a stable organization. The ideal candidate will bring at least 3 years of hands-on Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience, strong analytical skills, and intermediate-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Position: Accounting Specialist (AP/AR) – Temp-to-Hire
Location: Haverhill, MA (100% On-Site)
Compensation: $28–$30/hour, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
• Perform 2-way matching of purchase orders, invoices, and receipts
• Review and reconcile vendor statements and general ledger accounts
• Verify purchase orders, pricing, and payment terms for accuracy and compliance
• Ensure invoices, bills, and payroll obligations are processed accurately and paid on time
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues
• Maintain accurate financial records and support month-end closing activities
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with vendors and internal departments
• Assist with reporting, data entry, and other accounting-related administrative functions as needed

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of AP/AR or general accounting experience
• Manufacturing industry experience preferred, but not required
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, spreadsheets, and data organization
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
