Our client in the construction industry is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Officer for a one-year contract.


Accounting Officer – Construction Sector (Freeport/Central)
Employment Type: One-Year Contract / Full-Time
Reports To: Managing Director
Location: Freeport

Salary Range: $8,000 – $12,000- Based on experience

Job Summary:
A detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Officer to manage financial operations for construction projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Peachtree Accounting software and a solid understanding of construction-related financial processes. This role supports both day-to-day accounting functions and project-specific financial tracking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records using Peachtree Accounting software.

  • Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.

  • Monitor and reconcile bank accounts, project budgets, and general ledger entries.

  • Assist in preparing financial statements, reports, and project cost summaries.

  • Track expenditures and ensure proper allocation to construction projects.

  • Support payroll processing and ensure correct job costing, including calculations for VAT and NIS contributions.

  • Assist with audits, tax filings, and compliance with financial regulations.

  • Collaborate with project managers to review budget performance and financial forecasts.

  • Maintain documentation for contracts, invoices, and vendor records.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, ACCA, or related field.

  • Minimum 2–3 years of accounting experience.

  • Proficiency in Peachtree Accounting software is required.

  • Strong understanding of job costing and construction project accounting.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with local and regional financial regulations.

  • Experience with multi-project environments and reporting.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
