Position Overview

The Accounting Manager will oversee day-to-day accounting operations in a fast-paced logistics environment, manage the month-end close, and lead a small but critical accounting team. This role reports directly to the Finance Director and partners closely with operations and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full-cycle month-end and year-end close process, including a 5-day close
  • Prepare and review journal entries
  • Ensure all balance sheet accounts are fully reconciled and tied out
• Oversee revenue and freight reconciliations, including proprietary/in-house billing and carrier activity
• Maintain and manage fixed assets within NetSuite
• Supervise, mentor, and hold accountable a team of 3 (Staff Accountant, Senior Accountant, and AP)
• Review and approve account reconciliations, financial statements, and supporting schedules
• Partner with leadership on financial analysis, reporting, and process improvements
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
• Participate in periodic weekend work during close as required

Ideal Candidate Profile

Must-Have Experience

• 5+ years of accounting experience using NetSuite, with strong fixed asset management exposure
• Proven experience owning a full-cycle close in a mid-to-large company environment
• Hands-on experience reconciling revenue and freight in a logistics or similar operational business
• Prior people leadership experience with a track record of accountability and development

Preferred (Not Required)

• Background in Transportation, Logistics, or 3PL environments
• Experience working in multi-site or distributed operations
• CPA a plus, but not required
