Position Summary
Our client is hiring an Accounting Manager (Hybrid – Cleveland, OH) to lead accounting operations and financial reporting for a manufacturing business. This role oversees month-end close, cost accounting, inventory controls, and team leadership. Manufacturing experience is preferred due to the role’s focus on COGS, variances, and production-related financial accuracy.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and journal entries
- Oversee manufacturing accounting including COGS, standard costing, and variance analysis
- Ensure accurate tracking of inventory, production costs, and manufacturing KPIs
- Lead and supervise accounting team members, delegating tasks and supporting growth
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning at the plant and corporate level
- Maintain strong internal controls around inventory, costing, and reporting
- Work cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, and Corporate Finance
- Assist with ERP improvements, data accuracy, and process enhancements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of accounting experience; manufacturing industry experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of inventory accounting, cost accounting, and manufacturing variances
- Prior management or team leadership experience
- ERP experience and strong Excel skills
- Excellent communication and analytical capabilities
