Carolina PRG has partnered with a growing, multi-entity organization is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Accounting Manager to lead its accounting operations and support continued growth. This role serves as a hands-on accounting leader responsible for financial reporting, internal controls, process improvement, and team development.

The Accounting Manager will oversee the day-to-day accounting function, ensure the integrity of financial information, and provide meaningful analysis and insights to executive leadership. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong technical accounting expertise, a continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead, coach, and develop the accounting team while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee daily departmental workflows and ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting activities.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support employee development and succession planning.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and retain high-performing accounting professionals.
  • Address performance concerns and administer corrective actions in accordance with company policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, direct, and oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, payroll accounting, and month-end close activities.
  • Manage the collection, review, and consolidation of financial data to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Prepare and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with external auditors and coordinate annual audits
  • Develop financial dashboards, key performance indicators (KPIs), and analytical reporting to support executive decision-making.
  • Provide meaningful analysis and recommendations based on financial and operational performance.
  • Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and long-range financial planning.
  • Evaluate and improve accounting processes, systems, and controls to increase efficiency, scalability, and accuracy.
  • Assess and strengthen internal controls and ensure appropriate segregation of duties.
  • Develop and monitor business performance metrics and identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Oversee tax compliance, regulatory reporting, and other statutory requirements.
  • Support inventory management processes and implement effective inventory controls, as applicable.
  • Participate in ERP implementations, system enhancements, and other cross-functional initiatives.
  • Lead or support special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of four to six years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
  • Minimum of two years of public accounting experience required; experience with a national or regional public accounting firm preferred.
  • Prior supervisory or management experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Experience managing multi-entity accounting environments is preferred.
  • Experience in construction, manufacturing, distribution, or other project-based industries is a plus.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
