About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Accounting Manager to join our client. This role will oversee day-to-day accounting operations for a multi-location business with significant inventory activity. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting skills, leadership ability, and experience managing complex transactional environments.
This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting operational decision-making across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Supervise and develop accounting staff, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory accounting teams
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts across multiple locations
- Oversee inventory accounting, including valuation, costing, and reconciliation processes
- Partner with operations and supply chain teams to ensure accurate inventory tracking and reporting
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements for accuracy
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Assist with external audits and tax compliance as needed
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and financial visibility
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA or CMA preferred but not required - 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibility
- Experience working in a multi-location environment
- Strong background in inventory accounting and costing
- Solid understanding of GAAP and internal control frameworks
- Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
