RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This role is NOT tied to a month-end close routine and is more project driven which allows for more control over your schedule.
- Oversee and manage the accounting department, ensuring compliance with GAAP and corporate policies.
- Prepare and review financial reports and forecasts to provide insights for strategic decision-making.
- Manage and mentor a team of 4-6 accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning efforts.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for the organization.
- Partner with external auditors during annual audits and resolve any accounting issues as needed.
- Drive process improvements and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.
- This group has high visibility within the company, and they look to this group to promote from within over the long term.
- The position will perform technical accounting research as it relates to active business pursuits of the company.
- Manage the capital asset review process while communicating and interacting with the operations of the business.
- Play a key role on the review committee when evaluating large business dealings.
EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or managerial roles.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced knowledge of Excel (experience with large ERP systems preferred).
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and levels.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
