Job Description
We are looking for an Accounting Manager to work for our Cleveland client. The ideal candidate will align with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions
- Ensure that financial transactions are properly recorded and that financial statements are accurate and timely
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, including monthly and annual financial statements
- Manage the budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring that financial goals are achieved
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure compliance with all financial reporting requirements
- Provide leadership and direction to the accounting team, ensuring that they have the necessary resources and training to perform their jobs effectively
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Stay current on accounting standards and regulations, and ensure that the company is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
- CPA certification preferred
- 5+ years of experience in accounting or related field, with at least 2 years of experience in a managerial role
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software applications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong leadership and management skills
