The Accounting Manager will serve as a strategic business partner, providing financial leadership, analytical insight, and operational guidance to drive efficiency and profitability across the organization.
This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and can operate with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute month-end closing tasks and maintain timely completion of internal control responsibilities.
- Lead the development and accuracy of manufacturing standard costs, including annual updates to activity rates, bills of materials, labor routing, and master data across all plant locations.
- Analyze and report variances to standard costs in a clear, actionable format for operations and finance leadership.
- Collaborate with Operations to identify and implement productivity improvements and cost-saving initiatives, including make-vs-buy analysis.
- Manage operating cost centers, including planning, forecasting, and cost control activities.
- Oversee inventory transactions and accuracy; manage the cycle count process to ensure proper financial adjustments and coverage throughout the year.
- Partner with Operations to review slow-moving and obsolete inventory, recommending actions to optimize working capital.
- Support the annual budgeting process and contribute to product line profitability analysis.
- Assist external auditors during the annual audit process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; strong knowledge of GAAP
- 5+ years of financial and managerial experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working for a global company a plus
- SAP experience is strongly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to build complex analytical models.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to credibly represent company values and quality standards.
- Highly organized, results-driven, and detail-oriented with strong follow-up capabilities.
- Demonstrates high ethical standards and integrity.
