We are looking for an Accounting Manager / Assistant Controller, under the guidance of the CFO, to oversee all aspects of the general ledger and payroll systems, supervise, track and evaluate day-to-day activities. This is a VERY hands-on position with a lot of moving parts and requires exceptional organizational skills. This is a position where you will have hands on exposure to virtually every aspect of the financial side of the business.

Accounting Manager / Assistant Controller
Our client is looking to hire a "hands on" Controller, who will report to the CFO. The position will offer exposure to every aspect of the financial side of the business.
Responsibilities
- Manage the month and year-end close process, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll (which is processed internally for a 100+ employee company), treasury, budgeting cash, variance analysis and fixed asset reconciliations
- Balance Sheet reconciliations monthly
- Issue timely and complete financial reports and BOD books at the end of every month
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
- Coordinate and complete annual review with outside CPA firm
- Complete annual business license renewals, property tax returns and Secretary of State renewals
- Produce and file timely and complete quarterly payroll tax returns
- Produce annual W-2’s and 1099’s and timely filing of W-3’s and 1096’s
- Annual business insurance and medical insurance renewals
- Work with CFO and outside insurance company to complete annual workers comp audit
- Work with outside auditors to complete annual 401k audit
- Meet financial accounting objectives
Skills
- Advanced computer skills in Excel, word and accounting software (Sage100 a plus)
- Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- BS degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- Background in operations is a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills as you will be working with all the other department managers
- A good understanding of “doing what it takes to get the job done”
- An understanding of intercompany transactions a plus
