As an Accounting Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of our financial processes. You will be part of a dynamic team where your contributions help us achieve our mission while working in a culture that values service, relationships, and teamwork.

  1. Assist with accounts payable and receivable processing
  2. Reconcile bank statements and financial transactions
  3. Prepare and maintain financial records and reports
  4. Process invoices, payments, and expense reimbursements
  5. Assist with payroll processing and employee wage calculations
  6. Maintain and update employee payroll records
  7. Ensure compliance with tax regulations and company policies
  8. Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end closing
  9. Assist in financial audits and provide necessary documentation
  10. Handle data entry and maintain accurate accounting databases
  11. Respond to vendor and employee inquiries regarding payments and payroll
  12. Assist with budgeting and financial forecasting tasks
  13. Support the accounting team with administrative tasks as needed
  14. Maintain general ledger accounts and perform account reconciliations
  15. Assist in preparing tax filings, and other payroll-related documents
  16. Track and process employee benefits, deductions, and garnishments
  17. Generate financial reports and summaries for management review
  18. Monitor and process expense reports in accordance with company policies
  19. Assist in developing and improving accounting procedures and controls
  20. Ensure accurate and timely submission of payroll taxes and filings
  21. Communicate with external vendors, banks, and financial institutions as needed
  22. Stay updated on changes in accounting and payroll regulations
  23. Carry out other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned to the position from time to time.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Accounting Certification – Level 1 ACCA Technician or equivalent level in Finance / Business
  • Must have 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge in the use of accounting software
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working collaboratively towards common goals.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Willingness to work onsite in Georgetown, Guyana
