Accountant/FP&A

Harbinger has partnered with a large non for profit agency, to find a strong FP&A/Accountant. This role is a 6 month to perm contract. This person will be responsible for financial planning, reporting, and financial integrity across the entire Non for Profit Organization This role includes senior accounting responsibilities, budgeting, forecasting, funder reporting, merger-related financial activities, and full ownership of one entire entity financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Own the preparation, accuracy, and completeness of monthly financial reporting
• Ensure integrity of financial statements through review of general ledger activity, accruals, and adjustments
• Review reconciliations and financial schedules prior to reporting
• Lead annual budgeting process including staffing models and program allocations
• Maintain forecast models tracking actual vs budget
• Prepare Board reporting packages including schedules and analysis
• Lead quarterly and annual funder reporting
• Track funding agreements and ensure compliance
• Own 1 of the entities entire financial consolidation and reporting
• Lead audit schedule preparation and respond to auditor queries
• Support and validate month-end close
• Analyze financial trends and provide recommendations
• Support merger preparedness activities including financial due diligence and data

validation

• Review and update Sage chart of accounts to align with merged entity structure
• Prepare and validate opening balances for merged entity
• Support mapping and migration of financial data between systems
• Ensure consistency and integrity of financial data pre- and post-merger
• Prepare schedules and reconciliations required for merger transition
• Support post-merger financial reporting alignment and system stabilization

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Strong financial reporting and analysis experience
• Not-for-profit experience preferred
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience with Sage/ACCPAC preferred
